One year ago, 30th of July 2022, I arrived in Ireland. The moment I stepped on the island, I realized that I'm in love with this land - from first sight.

The year of adventures only reassured me of my feelings. I adore the Emerald Island, and this blog was created to share my experiences with everyone, who is interested in the history, nature, and lifestyle of the greenest country in the world.
I live and work in Limerick, on the west coast. Over this year, it has become my hometown - I know where you can order a delicious burger, which pharmacy is open late on Saturday, what time you should not wait for the 304 bus, and which part is forbidden to go to because it's unsafe.
I love to walk along the embankment and watch the tides of the Shannon River. I love to listen to the rustle of the rain and the noise of the wind. I love ordering a pint of Guinness at the pub near work.
It's been a tough year, and life in Ireland isn't easy or bright (even though there's a rainbow every other day). Ireland is an expensive country, there are difficulties with housing, and there are queues everywhere, including websites.
But despite all the difficulties and obstacles, I continue to fall in love with this island. I've already been to 16 counties - each one is beautiful in its way - although I would never trade my Limerick for Dublin.
Over the year, I managed to:
- almost deal with documents for permanent residence and work
- find excellent accommodation for rent and make it warm and cozy
- see a myriad of beautiful landmarks in Ireland
- pass the theoretical driving license test and prepare for the practical test
There is still a lot of interesting, complex, and important to do ahead, and I will try to share all the nuances of life in the most emerald country.
