The incredible cliffs of the west coast of Ireland are some of the most beautiful and spectacular places on planet Earth. Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the world come to the west coast of the Emerald Isle to see the magnificent shores. Here, you can feel all the power of nature - strong winds, high waves, heavy rain, rainbows, scorching sun... The entire Wild Atlantic Way boasts breathtaking views of the coast, where the green prairies suddenly end with a cliff over the Atlantic Ocean. But there are three most known cliffs in the west of Ireland.
The most famous - Cliffs of Moher. These shores are constantly appearing in the filmmakers' footage - they can be seen in movies such as Thor: Ragnarok, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Leap Year. These cliffs are Ireland's most famous landmark. This location is definitely included in the "bucket list" of any tourist in Ireland. The Visitor Center is built right inside the rock, from which the official walking path along the cliffs begins. But you can touch the wild nature from any point on the seacoast.
If you plan the trip to these cliffs (and to any others), you should pay some respect to the Irish weather. In heavy rain or fog, there is a chance of not seeing anything at all.
Also, safety is significant - the cliffs are dangerous despite all the warnings and precautions, and an attempt to take a particularly nice photo can end fatally.
But this beauty is worth seeing with your own eyes - the Cliffs of Moher have become so popular due to their unique beauty. The length of the cliffs is 9 km, and their height reaches up to 240 m above sea level. They got their name in honor of the old defensive fort Mothar of Moher. The age of the rocks is more than 300 million years!!!
The most spectacular - the Cliffs of Kilkee.

Kilkee is a little less famous and visited than Moher, and outside the tourist season, you can find it completely deserted and fully enjoy the atmosphere of unity with nature. In my humble opinion, Kilkee is even more beautiful than Moher - the spray from the salty waves washes your face, the cries of seagulls fill the area, and it seems like you are standing at the edge of the world, the very one that ancient sailors and travelers were so eager to find.
The highest - Sleave League Cliffs.

These cliffs rise 601 meters above the ocean - and are the highest in Europe (of those accessible to people). These rocks are located far north of the island, and seeing them without fog and clouds hiding the peaks is a great success. A long and challenging tourist path begins with the visitor center. There are several mountain lakes with the purest water along the walking path, the sun gives way to pouring rain, and the wind makes walking quite challenging.
The most desperate ones reach the top of the cliff - but you can stop at the observation deck and admire the endless ocean and tiny bays at the foot of the cliffs.
Choose the cliffs you like most - and go there to spend time enjoying the incredible beauty of the world around you!
